Field descriptions: Location

Field Description
Active

When the Active switch is ON, the location can be used. When the Active switch is OFF, the location cannot be used. Switching a location off lets you take locations out of service for maintenance or refurbishment for example.
Dangerous goods allowed Checkbox that indicates whether goods that you consider as dangerous can be stored in the location. The definition of dangerous is up to your organization, the system does not control or restrict what is stored in the location.
ID The unique identifier of the location. This is the field used by default in search and selection fields in the product.
Name The location name.
Site

The site where the location is situated.

If you have selected a storage zone in the Zone field, the site associated with it automatically populates. If you select a site first, you can only select a storage zone linked to that site.
Type

The location type for this location.

Location type are managed on the Location type page.
Zone

The storage zone where the location is situated.

If you have not selected a site yet, the site linked to the storage zone populates. If you have selected a site, you can only select storage zones associated with that site.

Storage zones are managed on the Storage zone page.

Storage information block

Field Description
Available capacity The currently unused capacity of the location, as a percentage of the location capacity. The value is calculated and cannot be amended. If the used capacity is greater than the capacity, the available capacity is shown as zero.
Available volume The currently unused volume capacity of the location, as a percentage of the location volume capacity. The value is calculated and you cannot amended it. If the used volume is greater than the volume, the available volume is shown as zero.
Available weight The currently unused weight capacity of the location, as a percentage of the location weight capacity. The value is calculated and cannot be amended. If the used weight is greater than the weight, the available weight is shown as zero.
Capacity The maximum number of items that can be stored in the location. This value defaults from the selected location type. You can amend it if necessary.
Used capacity The currently used capacity of the location. This figure is adjusted whenever items are added to, or removed from, the location. It cannot be amended manually.
Used volume The currently used volume capacity of the items in the location. This figure is adjusted whenever items are added to, or removed from, the location. It cannot be amended manually.
Used weight The currently used weight capacity of the items in the location. This figure is adjusted whenever items are added to, or removed from, the location. It cannot be amended manually.
Volume The maximum volume capacity of the location. This value defaults from the selected location type. You can amend it if necessary.
Weight The maximum weight capacity of the location. This value defaults from the selected location type. You can amend it if necessary.
