To control what the locations in a storage zone are used for, you need to use location types. You assign a location type to a location.

Create a location type
- Enter a name, an ID, a description, and a category for the location type. The category is for reference only.
- Enter the maximum weight, volume, and number of items that can be stored in a location defined by this location type. When you select the location type for a Location, the Weight, Volume, and Capacity fields automatically populate with this information.
- Select the Accepted, Quality control, or Rejected checkboxes to indicate whether locations defined by this location type accept stock marked as Accepted (A), Quality control (Q), or Rejected (R).
- Save.
Edit a location type
You can edit any of the fields associated with a location type, even when it is assigned to locations.
Delete a location type
You cannot delete a location type that is assigned to a location.
